Princeton Tec, located not too far away from Princeton (New Jersey), makes lights for the outdoors, underwater, and industrial uses. Their commitment to excellence is evident from the first glance at their packaging, different from competitors in two ways:
We reviewed several Princeton Tec lights, listed below. Common to all of them is a nice solution to the problem presented, whether that be a tiny hand-held light or an underwater spotlight. I do have some suggestions, seen in the individual reviews, but all my nit-picking wouldn't prevent me from wholeheartedly recommending these lights.
Princeton Tec stamps their company or model names into the lights. I really wanted to see the depth rating also stamped in such a durable manner. I'm concerned that such an important thing will rub off with even a bit of use.
The LEDs put out a nice bright white color, as noted on this industry LED cromicity graph. I'm a long-time bulb user, and this is the first time I've seen LEDs which strike me as a reasonable replacement for bulbs. Their 100,000 hour lifespan and ability to withstand shock are selling-points, and having that in a comfortable enclosure with standard batteries (rather than high-cost Lithium cells) makes me think that I'll be giving away all my bulb lights.
Okay, let's get straight to the reviews...
